I think I would rather watch my 94 year old grandpa eat soup than sit through another Black Crowes performance...also, it's so cute when the boys let Susan noodle a little solo...precious really...

The only Crowes concert I saw was in the early 90's and it still ranks as one of the worst shows I've ever seen. I'm not going to judge the band based on one piss-poor performance, but personally I'd really hesitate to put down more cash on anything associated with Mr. Robinson (but I must admit that adding Mr. Greene may get me to rethink things).

Hey, you know where I can get tics to your Grandpa's soup show? He'd have a hard time topping my grandmother's needlepoint blowout from '98.

Only time I saw Chris was with The Brotherhood, and to me,
it didnt suck; very soulful. I dig the ZEP stuff too.
One mans douchery is anothers salad dressing I guess. wait.

The AllGood lineup is killer~

(see Beats Antique, but lots of good stuff)
Last year was more a hassle than a good time. Gonna skip.

But www.darkstarjubilee.com is coming up. Not too shabby.
Last years only savior after lighting blew the main stage,
was playing drums 15 feet away from Mickey eventually.

I need a trust fund set up to see em all.
http://www.familyrootsfest.com/ should be fun too. If any
of you are around I can welcome you in the nicest way.
Expect you SDH, I dont even know why you still post here :P
Only the strange listen to you...
That GOV line up is sick, as well as the Floyd Fest.
Dang... I cant wait to be a rich clone.

If I read this correctly, is it possible you are bringing Bertha to the Shenandoah Mountains of south central Virginia the last week of July for some Infamous Trampling by Yonder Railroad Mountain Turtle Dusters?

And Gogol Bordello and the Lumineers? Everyone needs to be in moonshine country to see gypsy punk....

OH gawd I wish Mando. Shes gonna have a heck of a time
making it around the Hocking Hills full of firewood and
drums, let alone the Shenandoahs. Dont have the 700 bucks
I usually sink into her this year as anually required.
Looking froward to being in 'our' version of moonshine
county though I must say.
Enjoy your Infamous Trampling by Yonder Railroad Mountain Turtle Dusters (nice. Isnt that how it ends up anyway?)

I will have to get by with the Rumpke Yonder Elephant Greensky Folkadelic Twiddle Pimps of The JGBs Tiny Universe Orchestra wailing and Playing Ping Pong with my Brothers and
Sisters Mickey Hart and Donna Jean Godchaux feauring Jeff
Mattson and David Gans. Should be a Werk Out!

Funny too~ just got turned onto G. Bordello this year. Good
stuff. Gotta go wear some purple now:

If someone put a free tic in my hand, I would happily give Chris another shot, I have heard much better things lately.

As for your un-invitation to the Family Roots Fest, I whole heartedly un-accept.

I too have no idea why I still post here.

That sooooo sounds like like you Hollow. LED toys?!? Bring
your Star Wars action figures, congas, and LEGOs (lincoln logs) as well.
Shoot, Did I just post here again? Better check my pants...

I did enjoy your Grandmas Needle Point Blow Out though
seriously. I still have the ticket stub: I loved the Jack
Straw Quilt encore. Leaving Texas, 4th day of July. Quilt
so hot, the clouds so low, the eagles fill the sky.

Last time I saw the crowes was with jimmy page; i enjoyed the multi-guitar led zep attack. Not the end-all, be-all of shows, but it was a good time. But I usually reach for stones, or better yet, the faces when I want to hear this style. 3-button hand me down...

thanks, sweet post, love "Stay with Me"...great version here...

Black Crowes suffer from an identity complex, they wish they were the Dead, the Stones, the Faces, the Band, Zeppelin, so they would go through "phases" trying to adopt the mojo of these bands, but alas, Chris Robinson is a douchebag and their musicianship is decent, not spectacular...

Sorry strat, disagree with you, I think the Crowes put on one dam good show. I have seem them now 10 times since 08 and have not been disappointed at all, seen Chris Robinson brotherhood 4 times and they were fantastic. I see the faces and stones identities but to say they have no identity is wrong but to each their own, I am seeing them at the house of blues in bean town in April and can't wait to see em with Jackie Greene! I guess I will be the black Crowes defender on the board.

I saw them 2 times in the 90s, first was fall 92 the other was May 95 with the Dirty Dozen band...met Robinson and a couple of he band members during these times..,they just seemed like a glorified bar band...I never said they were horrible and I would probably see a black crowes gig over wide spread panic...

not sure why all the fuss over Jackie Green

I really like Jackie Greene but I know there are a ton of peeps who don't, I just like his vibe that he gives off, I will say I thought Luther Dickinson was the shit on guitar for the warpaint and before the frost albums and subsequent tours, so Jackie has some big shoes to fill for me, I understand your criticisms of the band and you are not alone in them I just have always enjoyed what they do! But I respect your opinion strat and good discussion you started here though! Have a great evening

Why is Chris Robinson a douche? I don't know enough about him to have an opinion on the matter, but just curious as to what form of douchery he's exhibited.
